| ah xanga...i am sorry. i just don't like you now that you make me upload my pictures from somewhere else.
but a short update...if you haven't heard. IT'S A BOY! Leo Samuel is the official name. pretty excited.
summer has been fun...rex starts preK next week. hard to believe he's big enough for that. but he's very excited about his "big kid school"...
check facebook for recent pictures...

| rex got his hair cut! it was getting pretty long...and was in his eyes a lot. but i wasn't ready to lose it all! so we found a cut that kept the curls, and got it out of his face. he was really great for the cut. we love ms. monica. before: during: after:
i really like it i've been wanting to see how far rex would run if given the chance, b/c he has so. much. energy. we went to a track this morning...and i about had a FIT trying to find where to get IN to the track. we must've walked[rex running, of course] nearly a lap and a half or two just to find the open gate. then when we got in, he ran 4 full laps!!! so conservatively, he at least ran 1.25 miles..but i'm really thinking more like 1.5.
there was a man out there...who could have been between 55-65, and it was in crazy shape. he was out doing sprints. he got a kick out of rex running, and rex thought they were racing. as he left the guy said, "see ya rex, great run today!" and rex laughed, shook his head and shook his finger and the guy and said, "you almost beat me man!!" the other day rex got up from nap a few times...and honestly just wasn't tired yet. but i wasn't going to let 'not napping' be fun, and decided if he was going to stay up he had to work. so i gave him little cleaning chores, including emptying the dryer and moving the clothes from the washer to the dryer. he had a chair so he could reach, but still couldn't get to the bottom. "mommy, you will have to finish this b/c i can't reach it..." but determined to keep him busy and 'working' i gave him some tongs to finish the job. it was pretty funny.
i worked him for probably an hour or so[he kept sitting down to rest and i'd make him get up, HA]...then finally let him sit and he fell asleep on the couch minutes later. a few pictures from the library the other day...

| seems like a blog worthy day. yesterday, my mom was so sweet and gave me a little mother's day out. she kept the boys practically all day. with kev working on his NTL classes, and working on the weekends, that means no days home with him[=no help with boys] until the class is over. so the wonderful lady helped me out! i got my house sooooo clean. so this morning i didn't really want to hang out in it so that we could destroy it. so we cleaned up breakfast and hopped in the car. after a little duet. [looked cuter than it sounded]
on the way to kev's store to eat donuts, i drove by a garage sale. i've been looking for a 3 wheel plastic big wheel type thing for gus forEVER. he loves rex's bikes, but obviously is too little, and can only be held while he sits on them. the people had this marked for $2 and took $1. needs to be cleaned up a bit, but for a buck! and it's just what i was looking for. he'll love it.
then we hung out with kev at work for a while. didn't get pictures of the donuts and chocolate milk. but i can tell you it was sticky. and good. then i took the boys to the farmer's market. got all these pretty veggies for $9. i love people that work at those. always fun.
then the splash park. always a good time. gus loves to step on the sprinklers most. rex likes the water guns. both love snack time.

then got them home, bathed, fed and in bed. kev came home for lunch, then i got a little nap myself. not a bad day at all! oh...and ok, i will finally admit he needs a bit of a cut. i sucessfully got rex's hair in a ponytail last night. remind anyone of kev when we got married?

| continued.... got rex 'break the ice' the other day at a garage sale for $.50. he calls it his garage sale game
my kids are huge. gus[basically as big as sara's 4 year old!] hangs off his preschool napmat. seriously!
he can get as big as he wants, he's still a sweet ol baby.
went to the park the other day. it ended up being much hotter than i'd anticipated, which i why i took their shirts off toward the end. a little skanky, i know, but it was HOT!

at home after a bath. WORN OUT.
he was able to perk up when he got a sandwich in each hand.
gus gets into a lot of stuff lately. but he tells on himself, b/c he's apparently quite used to hearing this....and will yell it at himself when he's doing something he shouldn't..."DUS!!! NO." the other day i bent over to tie rex's shoe and got a weird twinge in my belly and said, "OH!" and rex was soooo concerned. "is it your belly?" me, "yes, it just hurt for a second" rex, "oh ok, well can i pray you for??" me, "of course!" rex, "dear Jesus, thank you that you make my mommy's belly feel better. amen. now does it feel better?"
